Wasn't I just talking about Grand Nationals?
im sorryt o offend anyone but big cubes are just no comparison to the hairdryer cars
just no comparason when it comes ot racing
If "hairdryers and spools" are so ****ty, then why are the bigboy badass V8 guys running them in TOPFUEL!!!
Food for thought.
Oh yeah, what about F1 and Indy car. ALL TURBO. Cept for the fake Indy car (IRL).... Are we forgetting about the days when the american muscle car was a V6 Turbocharged buick and the fastest thing around a roadcourse was a 4cyl Pony car with an outdated Porsche turbo? Still, I say we are talking apples and oranges.

GN's are bad ass
hey merlin i am just talking about affordable street cars, now if you have to money to build this stuff then its cool but i am talking about doller to horse power ratio

i dont think that theres a car out there that can keep up with a gn dollar for dollar. with a 3 buck wastegate mod you can take a high 13 second car and make them run mid 12s and 0-60 in the low 4 second range and for about 1500 you can have a solid 11 second performer with out doing any real work, thats stock turbo, intercooler, and injectors btw. once you start modding them the skys the limit.

heres what two gns (both modded with the same recipie above) can do.
http://jeffjfox.com/gn2.avi
i started off with the basic 11 second setup but then i steped it up alittle with a few of my own mods.
LC2, Precision PTE44C Turbo, .80 A/R Exhaust Housing, 3.5 Inch Terry Houston Polished Stainless Steel Down Pipe, Precision Front Mount Intercooler, Lucas 42.5 lb Injectors, Poston Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, Kirban Adjustable Wastegate, Kirban Breather By Pass Kit, RJC Power Plate, Walbro Dual Fuel Pumps, Hot Wire Kit, Stage 2 2004r, Shift Kit, Scanmaster V2.1, Boost and Fuel Pressure Gauges, 8.5 Inch Eaton 3.43 Posi (LSD), Jim Testa Custom Burnt Chips, Caspers Field Fix Harness, K@N Filter, Chromed MAF Pipe, Hooker Cat Back Dual Exhaust, Stright Pipes, Test Pipe, Dump, Bilstein HD Shocks, 275/60/15 BFG Comp TA Drag Radials, Ported And Polished Large Valve 25518445 Heads (TSM Style) Now Being Preped, Grill Optional.
im not sure what it will run on the track although i beat a viper srt10 on the highway and a harley v rod from a slow roll. the impressive part is that they 0-60 in 3 seconds i wasent even running race trim (15 psi of boost) on eather occasion. i even had a witness in the car when i beat the bike.
the only down sides to the car traction at the top of 1st gear and they start developing stress cracks because the body twists once you get so much hp. its a pretty easy fix for a body man but you have to run a cage to prevent it completly.

i agree 100% but what did you pay for the car starting off
BTW. that pic is agressive as hell

i payed 10 grand for the car and alittle over 1000 in N.O.S parts. alot of that money is all in the name badge, you can get a good t type (same car pretty much just diffrent paint in MOST cases) for about 6 grand but expect to pay around 40 grand for a gnx in the same shape with the same miles (55-60 if mint)
MOST of our gn club is made up of cops, only 2 of us arnt. i met these guys when they kept pulling me over so we started hanging out and formed out own club. i beleve were in the range of 9 cars right now, although im to tired to try and thing of everybody.
by what i can find this is one of 16 in its origional color and only 2 were made with t tops, i baught this beauty for 100 bucks. it needs some work but its got a solid body.

the funny thing is that hes one of the "low budget" guys, kenny duttweiler is the man to beat right now sence hes got the two most powerfull 6 cly turbo buick powered cars, both pusshing over 2000 hp from a 6 banger. check out this burnout.

sence im posting a bunch of other junk i might as well post this sence its unusual.

I prefer the AWD turbo route, but I live in NH and we can have buckets of fun in the snow. Any turboe car can be made fast for very little money. Exhaust, chip and boost control and you looking at a 35% - 40% gain for most applications. Not the case with american muscle.
btw, I am just givin ya $hit. I'd like to build a pony car for some track (road race not 1/4) fun.

no its got a intercooler, the gn is a apearance package on a t type. other then some trim, paint, and seats its the same car. your thinking of the "hot air" gns and t types. 84-85 years were fuel injected but not intercooled like the 86 and 87s were. if you go back even farther to the "before black" cars like my junk t type they have a turbocharger bolted to the intake manifold and a carb setting ontop of the turbo.

the gns a muscle car with a turbo, there are exceptions to the case. im all for stock turbo cars but how many other STOCK motors can see 25-27 psi and live to see another day. as fun and as strong as my car is its got its dissavantages. i HATE driving it daily because you forget how much power that youve got under that hood while with a traditional v8 muscle car youve got plenty of low end torque to roast the tires just about when ever ya want.

I used to spike 28 psi and level out around 24 psi in my GTX. The only weak link on that piece of $hit was the 2nd gear syncro. Gotta love 4 studded snows 225 hp and AWD in a 323 though in the winter!!!

yeah, we are on the same page. One of my friends had an 85ish T-Type and it wasn't intercooled (silver/black 2-tone). Just making sure that I wasn't sounding like an idiot.
