Va Tech Car Show

well its on April 18th this semester. Going to be alot of cars with engine mods, last time they had some show quality rides, but im trying to bring out the trucks, my truck wont be ready for it so im not taking it, but im pretty sure danny is going and then this other kid here with a clean 1st gen blazer with LS1 is coming too. Any people close to tech are welcome to come and show these guys some really nice show vehicles. its like 2 bucks to enter

haha, yeah i know about that, you can take 460 straight to tech pretty much...stay on there til you get to Christiansburg, then just get on the 460 bypass and that takes you directly to campus. im double checking to make sure its open to non tech people, itd be stupid if it wasnt.

Hey guys I'm new here. I go to VT & will be attending the show Sunday. I have a full size 96 GMC and the 1st gen blazer dose was talking about. The blazer is actually a LT1. It might be cool for all the trucks/suvs to meet up before the show & roll in together. Let me know what you guys think.

yeah dude, i was hoping someone got the trucks, the turnout was pretty good. i love the numbers though. This club has like 80 some cars and 2 trucks. so 4 of us guys brought trucks.

Ryan(lowered blaze) got best Truck/SUV
Chris(1badasx) got best paint
the rest went to liek 5 cars. so from the ratios, seemed like the guys were pretty impressed with the trucks that came out. Some cool rides were there, they brought out the NSX again this year, couple beemers, and typical other stuff. there was a 5.4 mustang who had to cut his 6 in cowl and the intake and all was still coming out the top of the hood, looked like it was BD without the BD. Really impressed despite being out hot it was. I have sun bubbles on my sex satellite dish(my head for those that havent had the pleasure of recognizing my infinite baldness). Thanks for those that came out, it was a good time hanging out and all.

Turnout was good, and all the trucks were lookin good. Chris & Kevin, it was good to meet up w/ you guys. We'll have to plan another get together.

Yeah it was good meeting everyone. Ryan, congrats on the best truck and Chris on best paint! We should plan on meeting up sometime, possibly drive over to that Denny's thing. Dose and I were thinking the 30th because he should have his truck back then.

Ryan, I have a question for you about your Blazer, are the bumper lights custom, or did you buy them somewhere? I'd like to add a set of driving lights to my truck, but don't want to hide them in my grill, I had some that hung down in my airdam, but of course they got busted. The type you have are perfect.

I made those a few years ago out of a stock set of bumper lenses and a set of small fog lights from a local auto parts store.

Was it difficult, like, how would you rate it on the difficulty scale? And what kind of materials did you need to do the job, I've kinda got an idea in my head, just curious.

Looked like a pretty good show. Wish I wasn't so far away so I coulda gone and checked it out.

The difficulty on the fog lights wasnt that high. You just have to cut out the hole in the lense. Make sure you put a divider in to seperate the light. I used a thick piece of sheet plastic from a hobby shop & seam sealer. Then for the front of the lenses i masked off the oval and painted the black then cleared the whole lense.
