I was wondering if anyone has turbo charged a 1991 Chevy 4.3? I was thinking about doing that to a stock throttle body 4.3 using parts from the salvage yards and making a custom system. I saw on Powerblocks show Trucks, where they took a Ford Lightning and put a turbo system on it. I want to just use stock parts to keep the upgrade mild, but gain more power and to also surpise some of those tuner guy with there Honda's, and Neon's. If some one could let me know I would be thankful.

One major thing to consider is how strong is the engine. How many miles are on it? Has it been rebuilt recently? TV shows are alot of editing to make the job look and sound easier.

There are also other differences in the motors. I am not too familiar with all of them but I do know that the Ford thundercoupes for example had different, lower compression piston to run a turbo. I actually bought a 83' T type Regal yesterday and am learning a little more about these types of set ups. I believe turbobuick.com has a syclone, typhoon section that might be helpful.

they were called the Typhoon and Syclone. make sure your engine can handle the boost before you go ahead and slap on a turbocharger.
