Anybody know how to work on DSM's??

What up yall? I am gonna be tearing into my Eclipse to make it run again and I was curious if anyone on here knows how to or would be interested in helping me work on it. Its the 420A motor and Im not 100% sure whats wrong with it BUT I am determined to figure it out. The car has been sitting for a year and half or so. Hopefulyl I can get it running again so I can have soemthing to drive while the truck in in NC gettin a makeover. Let me know! Thanks yall!

hmm.. i used to know more about them back when i had an avenger because that's actually a chrysler motor and is the same motor in the 4 banger avengers and sebrings 95-00 and the v6 that was in my avenger is a mitsu motor. i still know a little bit but not too much. what happens when you try to start it? what year is it?

You started that out wrong, but corrected yourself. HA! The motor in your Avenger was indeed a Mitsubishi motor, the mitsubishi motor is in no way a Chrysler motor.

Have you checked for crank walk? I know that's a huge problem with some of the earlier Eclipse motors, and if it happens, the motor is not good.

yea i know i messed that up, but basically what i was saying is that the 420a motor is a chrysler motor. back when those cars were made they were made at the same plant

Well when the car broke down in Early 06 I was driving and then the car just kinda cut out and then I got out and there was a trail of antifreeze for as long as I could see and there was a huge puddle of it under the car coming from the pass side of the motor which is also where the water pump is. So Im GUESSING the water pump took a dump and then the head gasket blew

I'm more of a 4G63 kinda guy.. I had a 90 and 96 Both TSi AWD's.
