greg larkins

do you crop the truck to drop it in photoshop?

greg larkins

do you crop the truck to drop it in photoshop?

i don't crop nothing unless i have to. for this pic, no cropping was necessary, but i did have to rotate the pic because the back end is higher than the front. look at the two pics next to eachother and the house. you'll see what i mean. sometimes it takes a while to do these kinda jobs, but i like the challenge. for this pic, it took me about an hour to get everything to a point where i liked it. notice i removed the front valance and the rear exhaust tips.

edit: i think you mean "did you select only the truck and then drop it using photoshop?" and the answer to that is something like that, but it's more involved than that.

I got something to keep you busy for a couple minutes. I'm contemplating painting the wheels on my Subaru in either a Subaru signature gold color, or something that more closely matches the bottom color of the car.

The car:

A Sample for the gold color:

And a sample of the gunmetal color I was thinking:

Please, and thank you.

greg larkins

do you want me to use those wheels? or do you have a different style you'd like?

I just want to paint the factory wheels, so I want to see how they would look in a gold or gunmetal color.

and gunmetal. i tried to match it to your rocker panels as closely as possible.

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=72jlw0l&s=1

if you want, i can do another one to try to match the wheel in the box's color. just let me know.

You did fine man, thanks. And they're five spoke wheels, NOT hubcaps. As far as the two pictures go, I like the colormatched wheels better. I think the gold color I would pick would actually be darker/golder than it came out in the photoshop. Thanks for the reference pictures though.

i know they're actual wheels, it was a joke. guess i should have said stock 15's. lol. i think the gunmetal wheels would look better too. you got anything else for me to work on?

i know you have done some "quickies" but i strongly suggest you work on your shading "post drop" at least. it looks un-natural alsmost as if it should actually be lower than the driveway. but nice attempt. i haven't photoshopped in ages.

just so you know i kinda know what i'm talking about..here's one of mine. lot of hours and it still never was completed. http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8861/shopsho1th6.jpg

yea i know it's kinda bad, but i'll work on it later. as for the bodydrop, it would look pretty hot with the wheels tucked up into the fenderwells, huh? i'm not saying i'm anywhere near perfect, but i try.

i'm gonna need you to take a better pic. maybe without another car sitting so close to it. it's not that i can't work on it like it is, it would just look better. and give me some time for all that work, but i'll get it done.

side angle would be best. if you can take it with the sun behind you when you take the pic, that would be the best.

edit: is that a 4x4?

yea, i checked out stylintrucks.com and looked at the install instrustions for that kit, looks pretty easy to do, would only take a few hours to do. you might be able to do the Xenon extreme kit fore that blazer i think they have what you need.
