Vac is Open after being hacked

Well, Vacustoms.com is now open. The .net was also linked to the same server and hopefully everything will work. Since VAC was down and had to be restored, I went ahead and upgrade vbulletin. The one complication we had was the old hosting company did not give me the data base and they did not restore the site as they promised so we ended up having to use a older back up I made in April. It looks like everything has been restored from April there may be some bugs still in the system. If anyone finds any let me or and Admin know and I will work on fixing it. Right now some smilies don't work and the Last Post links will not work until someone post in that section.

12/15/06 added most of the games back to the arcade.
12/16/06 There seems to be a problem with attachments not being allowed for exceeding you limit-- i have a ticket in with Vbulletin

woooooooooooot!!!! it was giving me crap when I inititally logged in and I had to go back to the www.vacustoms.com/forums link in my browser in order to bring it up and then I was logged in. Man I'm glad that it's back up...I've been so bored at work and the Scion forums aren't enough to keep me entertained.

Yeah, we had been wondering the same... It seems like the previous hosting company was more interested in anything but helping most of it's customers, and has caused a lot of problems with getting everything running again. But we are back, so spread the word and hopefully we can get moving forward again. Still trying to bug them for any kind of update, but we figured for the time being at least getting something up was better than nothing. Hopefully things can get back to normal around here soon enough. I was also getting fairly bored at work, and now that they blocked MySpace too, I was going crazy...lol. Good to see everyone who has been back so far, and can't wait for things to get back to normal around here :D

yea... i hope we didn’t loose to many either. Hopefully it will pick back up once they find out its open again… The sad thing is we could have replaced the hackers index and had it up and running in 2 days if the old hosting company didn’t move and upgrade there system :hammerhead: . Well at least .com is back!!!

I had the same sort of thing happen to another forum I was on and we had most of the normal people back within a couple of weeks so I think things should be fine.

The old hosting company would not give me the .net data base so i used a backup i had from April.. so everything is going to be off. Not the way i wanted it to be..but this was better than having to restart with a new board

Redline, i had the hosting company link the .net and .com to the same server so that links done with .net should take you to .com. Figure it won't hurt to have them both. I also got your banner back up in toplist.

O yea..bigworm was the one that called me and gave me the bad news....thanks again for the heads up when it went down!!!

I am not sure why they hack'd serversunderthesun hosting....i guess it was random or he pissed someone off. At first i was happy because when i looked at the forums they didn't delete anything but the index so i was guessing there were out to make a point and not to destroy everyones website. I have a link and a snap shot around somewhere with the hackers page.

This is so true.. we were having a really hard time until Daniel talked to chris who does our hosting now...this guy had it up and running like it was no big deal... I was hoping everyone wouldn't give up on VAC and that was one of the main reasons we went with the april backup instead of waiting around for the old hosting company to send me there last backup to get us up and running!!
