Ok so im down to the tranmission choice in my Camaro. Ive heard good things about both Th400 and Th350 transmissions and I only have one thing slowing me up. Ive been told the TH400 takes 15% of the engines power to drive the trans and the Th350 only takes around 7%. Right there most people would choose the Th350 but its also been proven the Th400 is a little bit stronger. Anyone have any input or suggestions on this. Oh yea and dont say anything about a 700r4 i think theyre junk as far as my application goes.

i have always been a fan of the th400 that is what most people run in customs street rods and i have always found it at the track too.

HOT ROD mag. did a test and the turbo 400 takes away 26 RWHP vs. T-350
i would stick with the T-400

I would go for a Th-350, I've had nothing but sucess. They are lighter and they can hold power, PLus they are usually eaiser to find!

I like them both but in my prior experience the 400, though a little heavier, has held up better for me.

yup the T-350 in my dads truck is about to explode right now but from a 468 with that trans, i wouldn't really expect it to last lol

still on the search for a T-400 ourselves
thought about a power glide but the truck is too heavy

if you do want a glide then we have 2 down here

You need to measure the amount of room in the transmission hump the TH400 might not fit.

Other things to consider.
T350 has a lower first gear than the 400..
If this is a street rod, adnit is built by someone competent, it should hold. There is no doubt that the 400 is stronger...

If you are still looking for a 350 of 400 tranny, PM me...
