My new car has steering wheel controls for the radio, I heard that there is aftermarket radios out there now that can interface to the steering wheel, anyone have any more info on this or a good radio to buy, prefferably one with Sirius.

i looked for something liek that when i first bought my car. i couldnt find much but i found that i could match them with some of the Kenwood dvd all in one screens and so forth, but those are real expensive. i ended up using my stock head unit and using an rf converter to get the RCA;s to hook up..still sounds good and i have my lazy controls

you can do it with any aftermarket radio...there is a module that just intergates with your factory controls to work with the aftermarket radio...i know Best Buy sells them...i think its like 50 or 60 bucks...

How does that work? My radio has no inputs for anything to be able to change the stations ot volume.

I don't know but I'm willing to bet that Peripheral makes something for you to be able to do that. They were the only company that made anything for me and my buddy to use the stock Infinity amp with aftermarket speakers in a Galant and I was told that it was impossible numerous times.

im not exactly sure how it works...but i know it works for sure...i sold them all the time...so i know they work...not sure who makes it...just go to a Best Buy and go to the install bay and tell them you need to module so your steering wheel controls will work with an aftermarket radio...they should know what your talkin about...and then just ask them out it works...they should be able to tell you that too

You can get one from peripheral(It is called a SWIX adapter)sells 2 different kinds Which are both very simple to install. One of them will directly connect into the back of specific radios like sony, pioneer and i think kenwood. There is a universal one also that uses a infared eye that acts as a remote(your radio has to have a remote to program it). They come with info on what wire you need and how to program.
Hope this helps.
