How hard is it to fiberglass something. I want to make a custom piece to hold my cd in place since I don't like the stockish look of it. I want to fiberglass it since I want it too look better than just some painted wood. I have never fiberglassed before but wanna do it now. So what all will I need and what are some steps on fiberglassing wood. Also can you just use any type of paint to paint it. Since I already know how I want it to look and how I want to paint it. Yet I just want to info all what I need and a few pointers on how to do it.. thanx

If you want to midify the entire trim piece that the radio sits behind you will need to cover the whole piece with masking tape and then the cover it with tin foil. Spray the foil with Pam (the cooking spray) then lay the pieces of resin covered fiberglass over the foil.

Of course this sounds a lot easier than it really is. You have to decide how you are going to attach the fiberglass piece to the dash and you have to make sure that you can seperate the fiberglass piece from the trim piece after it dries.

I would go to the junk yard and see if I could find the dash piece and work on that one in stead of tempting fate with the original.

Just take you time and think it thru, you should be fine.
