Thumbnails: Good Idea Or Not?

if you let people upload a thumbnail then isn't it wasting bandwidth and also space? most forums i'm on won't allow you to attach images. you can link them using the URL from another site. that way it's not taking anything from this forum. just an idea!

Yeah uploading pictures does take space and bandwidth, but the limits are set low enough that it doesnt make a huge impact on the forum, if it becomes a problem and we run out of bandwidth or space, I will turn that stuff off.

Not sure what forums your using, but everyone I'm on (which is alot) allows them. But yeah, the badwidth for them is minimal at most.
