well unless u have lights like hat or caddys ( like i wil have soon...on a Ranger) then u have no room to talk. I think S-10s in general are played out...but what do u always see at shows assloads of S-10s everywhere. Just a thought

once again, the arguement of played out is brought up...i can see how certain mods are played out. Boz, i dont remember how many times that you laid down that caddies were played out and did not belong on a non-GM vehicle, and now you are getting them put on. I still back it up. For the simple reason, whatever anyone tries to do now, they are not starting something new. Its already been done on some vehicle. So with any mod, you can really only choose to EXPAND the market. people are going to drive the same vehicles, mod the same vehicles with the same mods because typically those "played out" mods on "played out" vehicles just looks DAMN good.

Lets break it down. A noob has a truck. Hes seen some people in his area put on the X2000 Hyper Fluidifier Chang Rocker Lights(for illustration purpose only) on their vehicles. He know exactly how it looks and thinks that it looks great. Instead of going to find something totally different and crazy, he decides to get the X2000s. There is no risk in having them look bad because hes already seen them on another vehicle. Person after person gets the X2000 because they look good. Then all of a sudden, people call out saying that its played out...until the X2004s come out...then its all over.

This guy in the picture is going for a look that is differnt but still looks pretty quality. He may have not seen anyone else with skyline tails so it may be different, most likely no one else will have them in his region.

In conclusion, its hard to say that something doesnt belong anymore. Its soo hard to change up the market with one vehicle...thats when you take whats been done and expand the market into something they havent seen....and if they have seen it, you can just only make it look better...

Im with brian i think caddies are played out. Boz of course youre gonna see more s-10s at shows the aftermarket for them is huge, which is why people continue to build them, the parts are endless. I dunno about anyone else but my tail lights are stock cause i dont want caddies not cause i cant afford them so i think its unfair to say someone has no room to talk because they lack custom tails.

instead of using caddys or skylines why dont they risk it or photoshop with different lights... mine are the All clear no red in them far as i know they dont make no more and there isnt many out there, so not many people will have them... when i bought them i never seen them and i just risk'd it.. but if u want it to look good u can make it look good, make em sit sideways, upside down, etc, etc.

i know i dont see stock tailights on s10/sonoma's anymore, so those are my custome tailights, stock! ya baby.

and the reason i bought a s10/sonoma is because the aftermarket for them is so big, its just a lot easier to make that truck look good with less money. I was there when adam started his ranger, and i saw him spend all that money, and it was a lot of money... i didnt want to spend so much, so i went with the cheaper version. I still think those lights on that car look sweet, i havnt seen them before.

I'm curious what other tails they make for an S that they don't for the Ranger? From what I've seen, it's either stock, chrome/carbon fiber/painted Altezzas, or clears. I've seen all of those on Rangers as well.

I have to agree that Caddi tails are getting "played out", most trucks with custom tails are either Caddis or LED strips, but that's what happens when there is an abundance of a certain type of light, one person does it, and it looks cool, so someone else does it. It's the whole snowball effect.

At the same time, I also think that arguing that something is played out, is played out. If you want to get Caddis for your truck, it's your truck, hook it up. Just, sometimes if you want to be different, you have to dig down inside yourself and pull up your imagination and come up with something on your own. If you don't like the fact that there's only a couple variations of a part for your truck, and it seems like everyone has them, come up with your own unique way of doing that part.

damn, all this *****in about something i said. boz why do you always have to be so defensive about ****. it doesnt matter if i have custom tails or not...i still have an opinion. s-10's may be the most popular truck at shows, but rangers are not far behind.

maybe i should explain what i meant in my original post. now i think saying "played out" was too harsh, i guess, cause i didnt mean it in a bad way but thats how its being takin. what i mean is more along the lines that caddys and skyline lights are very common/popular to use when swapping tails.

all of you have very good points. caddys and LEDs just look badass cropped into an S-10 or sonoma. although i have to admit you do see them everwhere. its kinda hard to be original or unique anymore. can anyone tell me who had the very first caddy tails in an s-10? probably not. can anyone remember back in school when you waited for the first jordan's to come out and thought you were going to be the first ones to have them. before the day was over everyone had them and no one could tell who had them first. point im trying to make is that it really doesnt matter how you customize your ride, its your ride and they have to respect you for that. its all about R.E.S.P.E.C.T. in this game. :thumbup:
