well i just replaced all of my speakers, i got a kenwood compnent system for the doors and pioneer 3-ways for the dash, in total all of cost about 220 or so, and i did the install myself, of couse if you aren't looking for a component system then it would be a lot cheaper, the sound quality on my kenwoods are pretty good and they are actually sorta on the low end of the spectrum, i've heard from friends that the infinity kappa series(i think thats what they are called) sound really good, but are quite pricey, and of couse the more you pay the better quality you will most likely get, but once you decide on a brand i would def shop around first for the best price and not just buy them from the first place that sells them

A friend of mine has an Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5 component set in the rear deck of his Nissan Sentra and they sound VERY nice. I dont like Infinity but his components sound really nice(i say that i dont like them after installing a system in a Galant and not knowing anything about the Infinity stuff that was in it stock haha. it was a total pain in the ass trust me)

here's my opinion. first, find your price range, then find the ones with the highest Sensitivity 91db or better, then find the ones with the best frequency.
my opinion though.

try looking at www.woofersetc.com . they have great prices and i've ordered from there acouple of times and had great service. I'm thinking of going with some MB Quartz or Imagine Dynamics comp set.

aight will do.
not gonna ask why?
fine then, i'll explain anyway.
higher sensitivity, the better, more efficient, the speaker is. pair that up with a speaker who has a broader frequency range, the more you will hear.
IN OTHER WORDS, IT"S BETTER!!!
if your running amps, pay attention to RMS rating a little. don't want to put an amp with 150watt rms rating with speakers with 50watt rms rating. bad things tend to happen.
