You have to define the poll better. If you are just comparing engines, would have to say that I take the small block Ford and the Big block Chevy. Even though the 350 Chevy is a good engine, I just love the way a 302 sounds. There is something about the way the Fords sound, I think it's the firing order, but not sure. Pound for pound I like the 396 - 427 vet and camaro SS engines. As for complete packages, the F body cars out handle the Mustangs of their days, but the fords were lighter and a little faster around the track. If your talking trucks, I'll take my bullet proof 87 F150 with a 300 - 6 all work week long. So, in conclusion not mopar.................... unless you're talking hemi and Superbirds.......................

i agree on the fords sounding wild i heard a stroker 302 (347CI?) and nothing soundes wilder
as far as the bowtie big blocks nothing is better lol unless you spend alot of money on juice, forced induction etc.
yall better watch out i hear rumors that Chrysler is going down within the next couple years beside toyota is knocking mopar down hard when it comes to sales is toyota a considered a top 3 AMERICAN car now?

Well when I was working in NASCAR right around the time that the Supertruck series was started. Toyota was designing their Steel Block V-8 for the T100 turck so that they could enter the series till Bob France told the to Go screw themselves. You have a valid point though. More and more toyota are made here and fords are going to Canada and Mexico.

I voted for chrysler/dodge for the same reason k20hatch did. The srt-4 is very nasty! Not to mention the new ram and other vehicles coming back like the charger. I've had all three and still have a 80' chevy scottsdale and my 01 dak r/t so im a die hard truck fan and voted based on my likes.

VW for life. I am looking into taking a 200 QT drive train and dropping it into a A1 Scirocco chassis, what do you think about a 1950lbs car with awd tube chassis and 400 hp?

A 347 stroker sounds totally evil, but Chevy big blocks are my choice.

Since the Forum Title is "American" Muscle, I don't think you should see any imports here.
As far as favorites, mine are the 1960's GTO's and Firebirds. Since buying my Dakota in 1998, I have also become a fan of the early Mopars.

i have to stick with chevy or my pops will beat the crap out of me unless it is a 64 1/2 mustang. they are the only fords 64 1/2 to 69 mustangs that i would be allowed to buy without being disowned. also pops works for chevy so i dont really have a choice. if it gets from point a to point b then i am happy. also if the 302 would fit in my chevy i would love to build one of them up. they are crazy nuts. love the 5.0 motors.

I don't like any of them.
But I voted for Chrystler because of their newer models. I am moderately impressed by the Pacifica and I really like the Crossfire.

I am surprised no one mentioned the LS-1. An engine that propels a 3500 pound car to high 12 sec 1/4 miles. Got to stick with the General

100% GM all the way...Nothing better, I really think most people that are Ford fans dont do alot of work on their Fords. I've spent my whole life working on cars and Fords seem to have more issues and poor design when I look at them. Some times I wonder what they were thinking...
