Im looking to install power locks on my 2000 S-10 because i want to get an alarm and keyless entry sounds nice anyway. Has anyone installed a power lock kit before? If so how much work is required and who makes these kits. Not to worried about the price i just wanna get it done but i have little info and ive never done it before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks yall.

do yourself a favour and go pick up the factory actuators out of a wrecked blazer or s10 cause the unversal ones can sometime be a pain to work with

i got power locks put on when i got my alarm installed. as far as i know all they did was install some actuators. the hardest part is probably gonna be finding the right position for the actuator so it locks/unlocks when it extends/retracts.

i got everything needed for my keyless entry from circuit city... relays and door lock actuators, just go to the stereo install part and axe em.

It's all pretty easy. It just takes patience. Don't half ass your actuator install or they will fail down the road and youll have to pull the door off again. Oh and take the time to run your wires through the door grommet.

i put the actuators in dan's truck and i've done plenty of s-10s before... they are not that bad to do ..... if you are local i can install them for you

I had best buy do it when they put my alarm in. It looks simple but i had to take it back to them about 5 times for them to fix it. First an actuator went bad, then they had to keep adjusting it because the actuator was making noises. But the hardest part is bending the metal rods up to concect to the existing rods.

WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had one of those universal kits put in one of my trucks and I had to go back every 4 months to have the things readjusted because the the things wouldn't work. the driver side door would stop unlocking or the passenger side door. got to be a real pain! I would say get the stock ones you'll save yourself a heck of a headache!

hey urban would you mind taking a look at mine maybe you can fix it so that I don't have any more problems with mine. It's getting so old taking back to them even though they do it for free each time.
