In case anyone is looking, you can buy 116 octane Sunoco Maximal at abacus racing $7 a gallon.

This is the fuel they have

might want to check out the local airstrips.. i dunno about where everyone else lives but waynesboro has a small airport for local puddle jumpers and fuel there is alot cheaper.. works good too, i've got a buddy that runs it all the time.. just be carefull runnin that stuff in a stock ride, you run the chance of burnin a valve if you're not carefull.. my advice would be to mix 110 50/50 with 93 octane or something

I have heard bad things about using airport high octane gas, something about the oxigination....

But anyway, I was just letting people know, I wasnt making any suggestions or anything

I used to run the airport 110 in my firebird and it sucked ass. I found a local place up here in NOVA that sells 55 gallon drums of 116 for dirt cheap.

funny, my friend has been running it in a built ford 460 for about a year with no problems.. guess different airports might have something to do with it ? dunno..

Holy ****, I am glad ihave been busy for the last few months. This post cracks me up. Race fuel is a dated item. There are "oxygenators" in race fuel, but not general avation (puddle jumper) fuels. Usually they come in 100LL or 110 LL (LL stands for Low Lead not for Cat cars) I ran 100LL in one of my cars for over 2 years and saw a slight gain in performance, but then again, I was getting the crap for free @ the local terminal. Perks for working around planes I guess. I have seen all the hype about avaton fuel and race fuel. It wasn't till I worked in BGNN and IMSA till I learned about oxygenators and such. You can research this with any search engine to come to your own conclusions. Just for clarification...... Higher octane is LESS volital and burns slower, which in turns allows higher compression ratio's and more power.
