you could wire up a buzzer so when you press the button a monkey will hear the buzzer and unlock your doors?
haha, ummm, did you try suicidedoors.com? or call the customer service at stylin concepts ...they probly got alot of answers...but i still like the monkey idea

You probably just need someone to help you, the universal ones WILL fit in the doors without a doubt.

If you can fit a 50 lb shaved door actuator you can fit a door lock actuator.
Do they look like these?

yea something along the lines of that....i dont know ill talk to him and tell him that people said they should fit...but i mean i was there when he was tryin to do it...and it didnt look like it would fit anywhere....so i dont know

circuit city hires just about anybody that owns a 10$ wally world toolbox.. just because the almighty "employee" said it wasn't possible, doesn't mean it's so.. they also told me i wouldn't be able to run my alpines in my truck due to the airspace in the cab... well im pretty sure those things behind my seat have been in there bout 6 months now, never once had a problem... don't listen to the dude, find a way to make them fit

i have put actuators in 2ndgens s-series alot the universal one that look like the ones adam pictured will work u have to locate them behind the armrest in the door panel
and as far as the dude that tried to help you i don't think he cared enough to actually make them work and yea circuit city would hire donkeys if they could get away with it

Yeah, Joe(el camino ss) helped me get mine in and like he said put them behind the armrest and just bend those metal rods a little to get them to slide the way you need for the lock to move....

Well i'm good friends with the guy that tried to install them...although me might not have tried his hardest, he wouldnt take a door panel off and go through all that trouble for nothing. I'm sure they could fit, just might have to cut out some of the metal in the door. The easiest way to do this would be to go to the dealership and get actuators that were designed for your doors. Or even go to a junkyard and pull some from there.
I love how you people probly havent installed more than one or two systems, IF THAT, but yet you can comment on the competence of the installers at circuit city. Just becuase some schmuck on the salesfloor lied to you so he could try to sell you something else doesnt mean a damn thing about the installers at circuit city. Those guys can install circles around 99% of the people on this board. I know this from personal experience, I installed with them all for a few months before going to college.
All of the installers that work at the circuity city i worked at are all in the 500 car club at least. One of the guys is in the 5000 car club. Another is not far behind him. When you've worked on that many cars, I wouldnt exactly call you a donkey with a $10 wally world toolbox.

Well I hate to turn this into a discussion about Circuit Sh*tty but.. I have had to deal with them on several occasions for parts and such. For the most part they are very inexperienced with alarms or custom work. Mainly because they do very little of either. They can however bang out head units and amps pretty quickly and do nice work. But I would like to see your average circuit Sh*tty installer make a fiberglass enclosure from scratch or a simple keyless entry on an old vacuum lock Benz.
In conclusion: They are good for quick simple installs, but they lack the time and experience for difficult/custom work. Granted there are always a few "diamonds in the rough". I'm speaking in general terms here.
Not to blow my own horn but..

yeah, hey oapy, are you on the Car Club of Virginia Techs website, i think i remember that SN from somewhere. If you are then i know for sure you know what youre talking about. Sounds like youve got a solid foundation, but there are a bunch of guys here that have been in the scene for quite a while, and have done more than 1 or two installations. i have seen circuit city turn down some work ive asked for in the past because it would be out of their normal set of jobs. I tend not to go there unless i have a certain product that i want to get...

well good for them, im glad, they can put in headunits, install amps or subs faster then me... however in my experiences with them in the past.. anything other then THAT, they are worthless... i've asked them even simple fiberglass or electrical questions before(and no, not the sales tools, the actual installers in the manassas store) and none of them could help... they know what they can read in the manuals of stuff they install, and that seems to be it.. i could do that, my point was originally, just because someone who's probably never done it, or only done it once or twice says it can't be done, doesn't mean you have to listen to them... what if someone said it was impossible to make an 18" sub, then nobody ever tried again because 1 person said it wasn't possible.. guess you'd have to settle for a 15 wouldn't you, and who'd want to do that

HAHAHAHAHAHA Dude dont take this personal, he asked for help!!!!!!!!!
I PERSONALLY have installed many many sets of these.
Those guys can install circles around 99% of the people on this board. He couldnt put door lock actuators on your truck, but he is better than 99% of us, Im impressed WTFuc

the circuit city universal actuator is what i have in my truck... scott (urbanoise) had no problems fitting them on my door. he just put them on the door in between the door panel and the door itself. he didnt try to fit inside with the window. it'll fit.

most of you dont know that circuit city used to do plenty of custom work...unfortunetely its now store policy that we dont do anything super custom because it takes too much time.
And to whoever said circuit city doesnt do much security or navigation, I just want you to know that they do on average at least 10 alarms per week and at least 2 navigation units a month. They install XM like no tomorrow and do dvd/overhead screens all day long. Just about the only thing they dont do is custom fabrication, and that is only because of company policy.
Incudose- yes thats me on VTCC. Hit me up sometime
