ok i ditched the plans on the 86 dodge d50 small block thing.. in favor of another deal.. im painting a buddy's drag car in return for two cars of his, 1971 Pintos.. yeah yeah yeah i know you're thinkin WTF Pintos in american muscle thread, but wait.. the first is a street car w/ rotted out floorpans and roof BUT it has a mildly built 302 and a good c4 tranny, a racing bucket.. also other misc. body parts, the second is a "Pat Bennet" frammed beast w/ an 8 point cage and 14" wide Weld Draglite rims.. so between the two all im left missing is the rearend, rear tires, front rims n' tires and a lot of time and effort.. finally have the drag car ive allways wanted.. ill take some pics later this week and post them up.. if anyone even reads this forum anymore

dude thast awesome, i wanna see the pinto, i'd rock one in a heartbeat... you should build a kit car out of that, the pinto is one of the most common chassis used for kit cars...

nah this thing is stricktly Drag Race.. the chassis is no longer stock it has been fully redone from the original front sub frame all the way to the rear to allow for a narrowed rear (tubbed) and 14" wide slicks.. it was built by "Pat Bennet" a professional drag car builder ( i think he's from lynchburg or richmond dunno) this one is also a "trunk" version pinto (1971) so not a hatchback therefore the back window isnt quite as gawdy as most... i figure with the warmed over 302 it should run low 8s in the 1/8th mile and MAYBE mid 10s in the 1/4 mile.. im looking into merlin big blocks but thatll be WAY down the road.. if i can push it into the 7s in the 1/8th ill be happy for awhile...

Pat Bennets shop is in Madison Heights. I hear he builds some bad a$$ cars. Doesn't sound like your gonna have much time to build a truck now though.
