ive got a profile california 1200sx amp that i just had repairs done to.. but now when i hook it up i get insane feedback through my sub (rockford punch he2 12")... and it works without ever plugging up the acc lead... when i do plug up the acc lead it makes no difference.. my thought would be bad ground, but it was too dark so i gave up for awhile..

Bad ground or cheap RCAs and Profile doesn't make the best product

hahaha yeah i know profile is sheety. you could have just said that.. but us po folks gotta deal with it.. anyway the rca cables are tied into the rear speakers via a converter box (wifes factory honda head doesnt have rca preouts) do you think that might be cousing the problem ?

that wouldnt help... the more crap you have inbetween the stereo and the speakers, the more noise there will be (whether you can hear it or not)

ahhhh ok i just talked to the stereo shop that fixed my amp in the first place and they said if its turning on without the accessory (sp?) lead plugged in then there's still something wrong with the amp internally.. so they're rechecking it, and hopefully fixing it for free since they didnt get it right the last time.. who knows i can only hope

i had to run a line converter for the RCA's on my 03 accord, because i'm using the stock radio, and i had feedback like crazy. but then, i went and bought a GOOD line converter (about $40), and it has a dial to control the feed back. you turn it until you hear god awful noises, and turn it back just a hair, and it sounds perfect now. just a thought.

the one i have cost about 30 and used to do fine.. but i think whatever is wrong inside the amp is causeing the feedback, its not really an engine noise, just a constant bass hit, slams when you turn the car off...

A line out converter is not going to be a source of noise, it might pick up noise from something else, but its not going to cause anything noticeable. Check back once the amp is fixed if you still have the problem. Noise problems usually arent too hard to troubleshoot you just have to think.
