Can any of you audiophiles suggest a good 12" sub? I have a Rockford Fosgate HE 10" right now and I love it, I just want to be able to hit lower frequencies. I will be pushing it with this : http://www.crutchfield.com/S-TLkMUYscguC/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=130GMX962&trans=1&cc=01&search=GM%2DX962.

My current setup is here: http://members.cox.net/parkern/Stereo_98.html

I would go with a JL W6 (or W7 but I say the W6 because I have actually heard them before and man....they bump...they bump nice) If i had the money I know I would have a pair of em. They dont have specs for them right on jlaudio.com but I am pretty sure that they are 400 watt rms, and that should be good with that amp.

I have that Amp in my escort, it WONT run a W6 or W7 it just doesnt have the gusto. Mine is running a single 12W0 and it sounds good.

I'm using one of the older Directed Comp X 12"s and I'm pretty happy with it. Seems to do pretty good with the lower frequencies from what I can tell. I am running it a little higher than I should be for power but it still doesn't seem to bottom out or anything unless I really crank the stereo but I am running it at about 1000 watts at 1.5ohm or so.... Definitely worth the price if you can still find them

Dont get your hopes too high of what that amp will run correctly like I said I have the same one in my escort and it does a good job with (1) 12W0 which is a high efficiency sub, I tried running my (2) 12W3's off of it and it worked, but it kept shutting off and wasnt even as loud as the (1) 12W0

Yea, I plan on just staying with 1 sub. I want to keep one of the passenger seats open in the Ranger, just in case.

In that case, I would go with a single JL 12W0 or 12W1 (4 OHM)

whats your budget man? If you want a sub to play low, you need to get yourself a ported box thats tuned real low, like in the 25hz range.

let me know how much you are willing to spend and i will throw out a few recomendations.
