what subs for the money are the best. i am looking into some 12's but i dont know what to get. i am not looking to spend a fortune but they have to be 400w rms and at least 800 max.

i am looking at audiobahn right now for some subs. telll me what yall think.

Depends.....You want sound quality? you want loud? you want loud and clear? what kind of amp will be powering them?

i bought an audiobahn 12 400watt w/ bandpass box on ebay for $107 shipped to the door. Also got a Profile California series 400watt class D hooked up to it and it pounds.

i got a couple of 12s from mephis audio, they sound good...not to expensive either

you can find some alpine type r's for realativly cheap, rms is stated 300 but can handle more as well as a peak of 1000. i dont really concern myself with peak though. overall they are a good investment

i got a Rockford BD1500's 1000watt class d mono amp for them.

also i want clarity and quality.

I like Subway.. then again if we had a quiznos around here..

OH wait my bad..

Alpine = Best sound quality.. the end

Rockford= one of the best sloppy loud bass
Memphis= loud as crap but not too reliable
MTX= great if u match the power of the amp to the sub

Thats about all I like.. I"m 100% alpine though..

JUST SAY NO TO BANDPASS BOXES! haha they sound ok.. but you could be having nothing but distortion through your sub and you'll never know it till it blows

eclipse is the best decks out there hands down. period enough said. rockford is loud as shyat.

so how much for 12in subs. need prices.

Ihad a pair of JL 10W0s.. EXCELENT subs. I would love to get a pair of 12W3's I can highly reccomend JL's stuff!!!

I have been into stereo since I was 15 (I am now 26) and I think I have tried every brand of subs (or heard them) and nothing beats JL sound quality and loudness. Even there cheap subs sound good. I use to have 3 JL10w0s in the truck but I decided it took too much room so I am in the process of building a setup with a 12W6v2. Can't wait!!!
