not sure if this goes here or maitnence(sp) .. but once my truck has been running for awhile (Hour or so) it will heat up about half way on the gauge and it does not want to pick up as good. The engine revs up like it should but it's not going as it should. i have replaced the muffler, cat, all the filters, new carb, spark plugs. can anyone help?

sensor problem? vaccum lines like said before, ummm you might have a line that is rotted or pops off when the line heats up check for loose or missing hoses.

at first it was a vaccum line leading into the carb but thats been taking care of. i believe its either the thermostat because i did have to flush the engine and install a new radiator and i didnt think of it and didnt replace that.. A guy at work also told me that the timing will do the same is that true? If i had a garage id tear the engine down and port and polish alot of it and clean everything (Works in Machine Shop) :)
I did replace all the broken and torn vaccum lines when i got the truck back on the road.

like which sensor shady4evr?

If you say that the engine revs but you don't pick up speed then you have a driveline problem. If you have an automatic transmission I'd say that it is slipping. Just remember, there is a hard mechanical link between your engine and the rear wheels when the clutch has engaged (even in an automatic) so if you rev the engine you have to go faster, or something is slipping.

After re-reading your post I think you mean that it revs freely (when in neutral) but doesn't have any power. Is that correct?

Hey Mini Toyota. It sounds like it maybe your thermostat. Some engine will not run great until the water temp is up to the correct temp, and some engine will lose power when they start to run hot do to many things. You said you replaced the radiator. It sounds more like the thermostat to me. When you replaced the radiator you should have went ahead and replaced the thermostat when you replaced the radiator. If it isn't that, it could be a sensor that has gone bad. I hope it won't be something that will cost you much to fix the problem. Thermastats are anout ten bucks or so. Good luck.

Mini Toyota. I don't know if you have a electric fan on you radiator, but sometimes it can be a bad sensor for the electric fan causing your problem, because it is reading your water temp incorrectly now with the new radiator and causing the fan to keep the water to hot. I wish you good luck at getting your problem solved and hope any of the info we have given you will help you out.

if ir were an efi motor si would say the o2 sensor for sure but im guessing its a carb or a tranny problem. the thermostat wouldn't cause it to run like crap when its at normal temprature. but it is a good idea to replace that.
