Good Head Units [Archive]

ANyone know which of the flip up screen head units are good? I am looking into buying one for the furture s-10, but was wanting to know if anyone has one and if they like it. I want one with a built in cd player and I have only seen like one so far like that.. thanx

i think there was a new Rockford or Kenwood ,im not sure, that came out that is supposed to be the shiot....ill find out and let you know

alpine is great...but expensive...i dont have one, but i have a alpine HU...and love it

I have always gone with Eclipse or Alpine. Tend to be more expensive but worth it!!!

ive only heard good things bout eclipse but no experience and everything ive owned of apline has been top notch

Newer alpine.. older stuff had issues with the clutch slipping on the screen.. but the new stuff is great.. and price is comming down a bit as well

haha clutch/gears whatever u want to call it.. we said clutch..

If you bump the screen by accident while it's opening or closing u can easily strip it. We had a few u had to guied up when opening..

i've had nothing but alpine...love em. dont have one of those flup up screen thingys, i'm too poor to get one.

i had a sony which was nice, but then i bought eclipse which was the shizzle. i think i am going to try out alpine or kenwood who knows. we will see.

i have a clarion touchscreen and wasn't very impressed with it.. the screen is slow coming out, pops alot when opening or closing, something cheap and plastic is bound to break inside it sounds like, then the screen up and burnt up on me so don't buy clarion.. at least i wouldn't again

cant go wrong with alpine or eclipse

Thanx, Yea I wanted an alpine but did not know. SInce I mean if I am going to put that much money into a head I want one that is going to work time after time. But yea I will check out the eclipse and see also. Plus I can get an flip up for about 300-500$, since a friend of my cuz wants me to rep his shop. It is only a one time deal to which sucks cuz I have to pay full price on everything else. Well 10% off if I am lucky, but yea thanx to all.
